Bringing Light and Joy this Holiday Season

The festive season reminds us of the power of connection, generosity, and community. At Women’s Support Motueka, we are here to help our community feel supported, valued, and connected, and to shine a little extra light and warmth this holiday season.

To help ease holiday pressures, we encourage everyone to:
Focus on the children’s wellbeing – create moments filled with love, laughter, and kindness.
Celebrate what matters most to you – let the season reflect your values and what brings you joy.
Be gentle with yourself – take time to rest, breathe, and enjoy the natural world around you.
Stick to a budget – prioritise essentials and spend only what you can comfortably afford.
Plan family arrangements – ensure children have meaningful time with both parents when shared custody applies.
Reach out – talk to someone you trust if the holidays feel overwhelming.
Stay mindful – moderate alcohol intake and keep hydrated.
Take a pause if tensions rise – step away, breathe, and return when calm.
Safety first – if you are ever worried about your safety or that of your children, call 111 immediately.

Even small acts of kindness and moments of connection can make a big difference. Whether it’s enjoying a walk in nature, sharing a meal, or reaching out to a neighbour, these simple gestures bring light to our community. We also celebrate the spirit of generosity and togetherness, which strengthens bonds and reminds us that no one has to face challenges alone.

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the Kindness Collective, this year we don’t need toy donations. Harcourts Motueka and Māpua are kindly collecting gifts for our clients, helping bring joy and comfort to the families we support.

Office Hours for the Holiday Season:
