Press Release –

Zumba Fundraiser Raises $1,200 for Women’s Support Motueka Counselling Services

The community came together on Saturday, 15th February, for a high-energy Zumba Fundraiser, organised by Emma Paaka – EJ Zumba Motueka, in support of Women’s Support Motueka. Thanks to the incredible generosity of participants and local businesses, the event raised $1,200, covering a full counselling journey for two women in need.

With an 18% increase in family harm referrals last year, the demand for free counselling and support services has never been greater. The funds raised will go directly towards providing vital counselling sessions for women affected by family harm in our community.

“We are beyond grateful to Emma and everyone who took part in this event,” said Maluz Moreno, Manager at Women’s Support Motueka. “This fundraiser not only helped raise funds but also highlighted the importance of the support we provide.”

The night was filled with dance, energy, and generosity, with attendees dressing in Valentine’s-themed outfits and enjoying spot prizes and raffles. Women’s Support Motueka extends a heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses that donated prizes, making the event extra special.
